Ambassador Nour El Din Sati
A Sudanese diplomat who served as his country’s ambassador to both Paris and Washington. He holds a PhD from Sorbonne University in 1974, the Saint Gregory Medal from the Vatican in 1996, and the Legion of Honor from the French Republic in 2018. He is an expert for international organizations in conflict resolution in African countries, and was a Woodrow Wilson Center Fellow in Washington (2009), a Global Fellow at the Center from 2013 to 2020, and the co-chair of the Sudan and South Sudan Group at the Center since 2009 until now. Sati has also served as Sudan’s representative to UNESCO and as a UNESCO advisor for the culture of peace in Africa (2014-2015), an advisor to the Geneva Centre for Human Rights (2009-2014), and an advisor to the Mediation Initiative Centre (Helsinki, Finland) (2014-2020).
