Dr. Amani Al-Tawil

Dr. Amani Al-Tawil is a leading researcher in African affairs with numerous publications in her field. She has led and continues to lead numerous work teams in various institutions conducting research and studies on African and international issues. These institutions include the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, the Information and Decision Support Center affiliated with the Egyptian Council of Ministers, the Center for Sudanese Studies at Cairo University, the Nile Basin Institute at Fayoum University, and the Arab and African Research Center.

She is a member of the Higher Committee of the Luxor African Film Festival and has a keen interest in women’s studies and gender equality policies. She also contributed to the formulation of some of the constitutional provisions in the 2014 Egyptian Constitution regarding women’s rights.

Dr. Al-Tawil is a member of the committees of several academic awards in Egypt, both at the Supreme Council for Culture and in civil society organizations such as the Boutros Ghali “Kemit” Foundation and the Helmy Sharaawy Award. She is a lecturer and trainer at military academies such as the National Defense College at the Nasser Military Academy and the National Defense College in the Sultanate of Oman. She has also organized numerous training courses in the Arab world in the fields of human development, research and media capacity building, and values of awareness and coexistence.

She has authored numerous individual and collective publications resulting from projects funded by international, regional, and Egyptian institutions such as UN Women, the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Egypt, the British University in Egypt, the Egyptian Center for Women’s Rights, and the Arab Center for Judicial Independence.
