Dr. Samir Marqous

Dr. Samir Marqous is a renowned thinker and writer. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Civilization Studies and Dialogue at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University.
Previous Experience:
Assistant to the President for Democratic Transformation (equivalent to Deputy Prime Minister), August 2012 – November 2012
Deputy Governor of Cairo for the Northern District (equivalent to Deputy Minister), August 2011 – August 2012
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Misry Foundation for Supporting Citizenship Studies and Dialogue, established in 2007

Co-Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches

Member of the Norwegian Academy for Literature and Freedom of Expression

Participant in the strategic planning for Egypt’s future: the political axis, at the Ministry of Planning
